I Ain’t Too Proud for Prayer…

Ask Miss Lisa (Love, Inspiration, Straight-talk, Activation)
 If TODAY is THE day…

We have been experiencing technical difficulties with posting to the site, so if you would like to post a comment or share a story, please email us at: askmisslisa@gmail.com and we will post without editing.

Since I announced in my blog that I have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, people have been saying “I hope you don’t mind, but I asked this person or that person to pray for you or added your name to our prayer calls.” One of my friends said… ”I know you are a private person, but I told my pastor about your situation.” Well, I think I have established that there is NOTHING private about me. I shout my business from the rooftops to help others which allows me to also share my AMAZING TESTIMONIES.

Please tell me…who objects to prayer? I really thought that PRAYER was the entire point!

Psalm 69:15-17 - Don’t let the floods overwhelm me, or the deep waters swallow me, or the pit of death devour me. Answer my prayers, O Lord, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful. Don’t hide from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in deep trouble!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 1:19-20 - I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Have we become so self-reliant that we do not need all the prayers we can get? Are we saying “Naw girl, I thank you, but God has got me so I don’t need your prayers.” Are we afraid for people to pray for us? I would like to start the discussion because I just don’t understand!

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS! I went to the doctor yesterday and was informed that my cancer is totally treatable and that it has been downgraded to Stage 2 instead of Stage 3. I have also been conflicted about trying to move my treatments to NIH, but GUESS WHAT?? The doctor that will be treating me is a specialist in my form of cancer (FROM NIH) with clinical trials going and she will be treating me at the hospital near my home. WON’T HE DO IT!!!!

I say all this because I would like to sincerely thank everyone who cared enough and took the time to pray for me. I am positive that I will have more AMAZING TESTIMONIES to share as I overcome this disease. I have wonderful prayer warriors in my life. The kind of raise-the-roof family and friends found in Mark 2:4 - They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.

James 5:16 - Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.

I pray that this has blessed you in some way and hope that you share my story with others who might be helped by my ability to tell my truth in love! I am praying for all of you, and I consider myself to be a raise-the-roof kind of person, so if you need prayer…I have got you!

Peace be with YOU!

Lisa
